Prevention Centres
Console Mission plans to set up Cancer Training and Awareness Centres in schools across all 14 zones or what is relevant of Nepal. These centres aim to equip children, families, and communities with knowledge and spiritual support to help prevent childhood cancer and safeguard vulnerable groups. Together, we can make sure no child has to face cancer alone.
Title: 🌱 Cancer Training & Awareness Centres in Nepal
Vision
Sustainable peace in Nepal through health, dignity, and hope.
Mission
Educating Nepali people spiritually, caring for the elderly, and protecting the vulnerable — including children at risk of cancer — to build lasting peace.
Why This Matters
Childhood cancer in Nepal is often detected late due to lack of awareness. Families in rural areas face financial and emotional barriers to care. Prevention and early detection save lives — and community-based centres make this knowledge accessible.
What We Do
- Build Centres in Schools: Establish prevention-focused centres in 14 zones of Nepal, using available land in school compounds.
- Train Teachers & Volunteers: Equip local leaders, teachers, and youth to spread awareness about childhood cancer prevention and early detection.
- Community Outreach: Host workshops for parents and families on nutrition, hygiene, and recognizing early symptoms.
- Spiritual & Emotional Support: Provide counseling and encouragement to families, reducing fear and stigma.
- Partnerships: Collaborate with hospitals, NGOs, and government programs to connect grassroots awareness with medical expertise.
Cultural & Religious Perspectives on Prevention
Nepal is home to diverse cultures and religions, each with traditions that emphasize care, prevention, and compassion:
- Hindu communities often stress purity, healthy living, and family responsibility — values that align with cancer prevention through nutrition and hygiene.
- Buddhist traditions highlight mindfulness and compassion, encouraging awareness and community support for vulnerable children.
- Christian churches emphasize service, education, and spiritual encouragement, offering both prevention awareness and emotional care.
- Indigenous practices often focus on harmony with nature, which can inspire healthier lifestyles and reduced exposure to harmful substances.
By respecting and integrating these cultural and religious values, Console Mission ensures prevention messages resonate deeply across communities.
Supporting Children with Cancer
Beyond prevention, Console Mission is committed to:
- Practical Support: Helping families with transport, lodging, and food during treatment.
- Emotional & Spiritual Care: Offering counseling, prayer, and encouragement to children and parents.
- Community Solidarity: Creating networks of volunteers and churches to walk alongside families in need.
Sustainability Beyond the Grant
- Centres integrated into schools and managed locally.
- Prevention topics included in school curriculum.
- Volunteer networks and partnerships ensure continuity after the grant.
- Community fundraising and storytelling keep the mission alive.
