Safeguarding is the set of policies, procedures, and practices designed to actively prevent harm, abuse, and distress.
At Console Mission, safeguarding ensures that our employees, volunteers, partners, vendors, and representatives do not — whether deliberately or unintentionally — cause harm to children or adults in the communities we serve.

- Child Protection: Making the wider world safe for children. It involves actions to protect specific children from risk or harm, often at a macro level, addressing social and legal protection needs in vulnerable communities.
At Console Mission, child protection is a thematic area of work aimed at preventing abuse and exploitation across all regions where we operate.
Child Safeguarding vs. Child Welfare
- Child Welfare: Ensuring communities are safe for children. At Console Mission, this includes responding to external child abuse allegations that must be reported to local authorities, whether familial, communal, or institutional.
