Why there are dogs and people together in street?

Her story reflects 3 things for me related to the weaknesses in our Nepali Society. (1.) The responsible body or organisation with full authority lacking to help someone physically weak living in street (2.) Even though there are other organisation else than this but a person physically or mentally weak who is not capable to do toilet in proper place due to physical disability or cause of sickness, is difficult to handle. This types of social organisation do not have financial resources that could let hire someone to take care. (3.) and the third is that suppose if she is socially disadvantage or lower in social system, she is outcast from basic rights.

Console Mission has a place but do not have full or part time staff. It has been taking care of the people abandoned or living in street by placing them at the places relevant to them. But in such case it is a big challenge. More than food or shelter, she (the woman in picture: Mrs Kanchi Maya Nepali who had 7 children but none is there for her to take care and suffering from various social stigma) needs someone to take care for her to go to toilet or help her.

(C.M. has not still understood her situation that brought her in street but most probably, based on the experiences, she must be stranded while she needs someone to take care)

To find a better solution, team of #rescue-support-services learning her story who is in a vulnerable situation.

Study Place

A place where children will get help to do homework. And school for those who don’t go to school. Moreover it will be a symbol in the community for the Children Rights to Education. It is linked with the forced marriage, forced for labour and many social causes linked with children especially girls.

But to reach to cover the need we cannot depend only on locals who are a kind of staff. For it’s continuation people from urban area should go there. But since it is a daily task, teaching children, willingness just doesn’t work. Therefore a tutor needs is most. Since it is a valuable task and it should continue the local volunteers needs training.

The higher grade student going in 10, 11 and 12 who are valuable needs to be developed as a team. There are challenges because of the social viewpoints like some should study and some other should work as a slave for someone.

Social system have drawn a line that though legally rubbed it has not affected or changed the society. And in the rural area these situations, if deeply analysed, are the root causes of social situations like human trafficking.

Study on Human Trafficking in Nepal (January 2018 – Mid June 2018)

I have been focusing to study last 6 months stories related to Human Trafficking. Moreover I would like to call Modern Days Slavery (that contents: (1) sexual exploitation trafficking, (2) forced slave labor, (3) bonded labor, (4) involuntary domestic servitude, (5) and child soldiery). Particularly looking at domestic i.e. Sex trafficking, forced labor, bonded labor and involuntary domestic servitude.

MDS

Translated from A21 Movement by Console Mission/ Dilasha Aviyan 2017 as authorised.

Before my study:

  1. Literally various types of as mentioned above 5-types (there are more – A21) are not particularly not known.
  2. As it is not viewed by differentiating, acting to stop it is not strong. However I don’t want to reflect in action, my focus is “why it has not been stopped”
  3. Beside this, various organisations have not developed a mechanism to work together or not?
  4. Patrolling the border might be not necessary compare to focusing in the local or domestic level.
  5. In 3 topics: Sex trafficking, forced labor, bonded labor and involuntary domestic servitude, I will be looking at domestic level (i.e. happening inside the country Nepal). Girls coming from rural for one purpose but exploited sex business, working in restaurant, children brought in urban for education but working in house or restaurant/ adult male or female paying debt as servant in urban areas and manual or labor worker paid low than normal respectively.
